As I studied missions I asked myself a few questions:
Who is reaching the most unreached people in the world?
Where is this being done?
What are the problems keeping churches from sending more missionaries?
What are the spiritual problems we deal with regarding missions?
The initial findings or answers to these questions radically changed my life, and ministry. It was through meditation on God word and the study of missions that God has led me to Zambia. I came into contact with Bobby Bonner through a mutual friend, Charles Fearnow with H.E.L.P. Ministries.
The Need in Africa
When Bobby told me about the need in Zambia, I really almost did not believe him. I would call him back and ask him the same questions over and over. He told me about men who after they were saved rode 500 miles, one way, on bicycles to get a bible. He told me about villages where the people would just stop eating so that they would not miss the preaching and teaching of God’s word. He spoke of entire villages being saved and then all the villages around them getting saved. He told of preaching in a remote bush village for 10 days and seeing 300 people saved.
I would just sit and cry. Could it be true? Are there people in this world that hungrer for the word of God? Bro. Bonner told me about an 80 year old man who was sitting on the side of the road under a tree. He led that man to Christ. Afterward, the man told him he had been coming to that tree for over 15 years praying that someone would come and tell him about who God was before he died. He was so grateful to be saved.
Initial Trip
Within weeks I decided I must go on a missions trip and see it. Before the trip was even fully planned, I had answered God’s call and determined to follow Christ, to Zambia as a missionary. Now I did not know a thing about Zambia. All I knew was that they needed help and God said GO!
I was recommended this website by my cousin. I’m not sure whether this post is written by him as nobody else know such detailed about my trouble. You’re incredible! Thanks!
